Scientific activity
unit processes for chemical separation: distillation; extraction; sorption; crystallization,
membrane processes: ultrafiltration; nanofiltration; reverse osmosis; pervaporation; membrane based solvent extraction. Their application for synthesis, separation and purification of chemical compounds as well as for industrial wastewaters treatment,
experimental determination of physicochemical property data as well as flammability and explosivity parameters,
dynamic simulation of industrial processes in the chemical industry including distillation units and pyrolysis furnaces,
designing of applications and simplified physicochemical models for automatic process control,
development of existing processes and plants.

Current activity
Laboratory and pilot scale research on:
application of sorption and/or ion exchange in new and modernized technologies,
utilization of sorption and/or ion exchange for synthesis, separation and purification of chemical compounds and for purification of technological and wastewater streams,
development of existing processes and plants,
Preparation of basic packages for industrial installations designed according to own processes.
Engineering supervision of launched processes at the stage of their commissioning and tests.
Experience
treatment of wastewater containing phenols, aromatic hydrocarbons, nitro- and chloronitro-benzene, acetone,
continuous production of trichloroisocyanuric acid,
production of urea and melamine hydroperoxides.

bleaching of aromatic hydrocarbons on an aluminosilicate catalyst (250,000 tons/year)
sorptive removal and recovery of platinum from the toluylenediamine production stream (5 kg of platinum per year)
start-up and further development of a wastewater treatment plant at cumene phenol and acetone production plant, PKN ORLEN, Płock (15.000 tons of wastewater/year),

Current activity
Research in a laboratory and pilot scale on:
application of unit processes for chemical separation such as extraction, distillation, crystallization, sorption and ion exchange in the original and developed technologies,
utilization of membrane techniques in wastewater treatment with recycling of removed chemical substances and water (in particular: for wastewater containing salts of mono- and multi-valent metals),
application of hybrid processes (combination of classical methods with membrane processes) for the synthesis, separation and purification of chemical compounds and for the purification of technological streams,
Preparation of basic packages for industrial installations designed according to own processes.

Experience
Commercial scale installations for:
recovery of ethylene glycol from the production wastewater by nanofiltration,
membrane based solvent extraction of phenol from hydrocarbon fraction,
recovery of ethylene glycol from spent freezing liquids
recovery of zinc from galvanic wastewater.
